79. Wrap it... do do do do

I LOVE wrapping Christmas presents, So much so that I wrap the presents for friends. Crazy (just a little). Today I am going to show you pics of my handmade tags and Christmas tree.

This is a photo of my tree, decorated by an expert.. my son. My son, Matt, was putting things on is no particular order.

Tags: I love the use of a tag. I am not a big fan of just putting to..., from... in a card. In this instance I use tags. The Stampin Up Whisper White Card was cut on the Cricut in to different tag shapes. These have been decorated using a basic Christmas pattern and sentiment.

Small 3 inch tags for school treats

Scallop square
Rounded tip tag

Scallop circle

My production line

This year all my gift wrap is themed green, red and white. I purchased this wrap from K Mart for $2.50 a roll. I like to use 2-3 different pattens to add some definition to the gifts under the tree.

Sorry, not a great picture

In my last post I showed you the notepad holders that I made. To wrap these I used red tissue paper and clear cellophane. I have tried to give these a more mature look and create a keepsake.

The red flower is  Christmas tree ornament

Hope this has sparked some enthusiasm in you.

Merry Chriatmas

78. Handmade with love (Christmas Present)

20 days till Christmas. Isn't it crazy how this year has flown.

I have all my gifts wrapped under the tree and over the next 20 days I plan to show you all of my Christmas wares. I hope they give you  a little inspiration for your Christmas.

Today I am going to show you what I have made for my family as a small gift, as we do not buy presents for adults. I got the idea for a note pad from the Papertrey Ink Blog and thought I would change it to suit my family and personalities.

What do you think? Each note pad has a coordinating bookmark and contained 2 note pads.

I will show you all about how I wrapped these in the next post on Christmas  wrapping.

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas.

God Bless
Bek

77. Special teacher, special gift.

I have been a hard working elf in Santa's cave over the past few months and I can not wait to show you all the bits and bobs I have been making. Today I am going to show you the end of year teachers gift that I have made, eek we are already 5 weeks off school holidays. I got this cool idea from Kim over at Paper Perfect Design and am very happy in how they turned out. ...

I could not  decided which picture to use so you got both lol.  I stamped the background cardstock with the apple outline image to create a patterned paper look. Just because I could not stop at 1 item, I made a matching bookmark to match. Quick tip with the bookmark...... Make sure you use a liquid/ hard setting glue so that the bookmark will be able to withstand good use.

So here are the details.
  • Cardstock by Stampin Up (Real Red, Old Olive, and Whisper White)
  • Ink by Stampin Up (Real Red, Old Olive and Basic Black)
  • Note pads by Papertrey Ink
  • Stamps by Papertrey Ink x2
  • Scallop Circle  and border punch and by Stampin Up
  • Large paperclip (found at my local newsagent, also available from Ebay)
  • Glossy Accents (Glue for the bookmark)
 Happy crafting :)

76. As cute as peas in a pod

Today is the baby shower of a good friend of mine who is having TWINS!! I almost fell off my chair at the thought and am super excited for them. Anyway getting back on topic, I need a cute card for her but I don't want to go for pink or blue. After spending a few minutes head first in my stamps I pulled out my Papertrey Ink "baby button bits" set and decided on the Peas in a Pod stamp. It is so CUTE I just love it.

This is the card/ pocket I made:

Isn't it the cutest stamp. I decided to make a pocket more than a card as I am putting money in it (they will need a lot with twins). It has a simple style tag in the back which I have written on.

What do you think? Leave me a comment to let me know.

75. A barrow of birthday Wishes

Hello, Thought I would pop in and show you a tag I have made for my father in law. He is going to be 65 very soon and loves the garden. I decided on a tag as my son has picked part 1 of his present which is a bottle of Guava Juice (I trust you will all keep it a secret) because "Grandad loved Guava juice". My son was in the craft room with me when I was making this and was a big helper in what colours the flowers should be.

The flower was created by moistening a scalloped circle of paper then scrunching to the centre. To set into place, glue a small circle of paper to the back using glossy accents then leave to dry. DONE. Easy, simple and FREE!!  Happy Birthday stamp is from Stampin Up, Barrow stamp is from CC Design, Coloured using my lovely Copic markers. Corners rounded with a Carl punch.

If you have any questions feel free to email me or leave a comment.

74. Play with marbles scrapbook page

Morning all.

I have a scrapbook page to show you today. The photos in this page are from 2007, it is my little boy playing with his marble blocks.

The words are stamped in Stampin Up Whisper White Craft ink which I LOVE. This is a great design of layout as you can use scraps of paper from other projects in any size and also recycled buttons were used.

Have a crafty day.

73. Monthy Craft night with my girls - August

Last week I attended my monthly girls scrap night so I thought I would show you a few cards I made. These cards are for family member birthdays and fathers day.

First card is for Nanna Joyce, It is her birthday in early September. Nanna has Macular Degeneration so I try to incorporate things that are textural and large print. Now the base of this card is left over from baby shower invites I made about a year ago. I had a little helper (Amy, 2 years old) over to help finish the card off with a Kaiser Happy Birthday stamp and some Glossy Accents. Thanks for helping Amy.

For Nanna Joyce
The second Card design is for FATHERS DAY on September 4th here in Australia. Now I am not sure about you but the men in my life do not really care about cards so I kept these ultra simple. Stamp, card stock, ink and twine are all from Stampin Up.

Fathers day cards
Lucky last card is for my youngest nephew who turns 1 in September. The invitations for the party were in pastels so I used that to theme the card. The decorative square in the center were left overs from invitations I made over a year ago.

Happy Birthday Zack

All 4 cards
Making cards is not meant to be expensive, time consuming or difficult. All four cards took only 2-3 hours and that was whilst drinking coffee and enjoying good conversation. So get in to those scraps and put some amazing cards together.

Hope you are having a stunning weekend.
